Overview
More
La Casa Amarilla is an informative space of the Cabildo of Lanzarote which organizes temporary exhibitions focusing on the knowledge and memory of Lanzarote. La Casa Amarilla is the familiar name of an old house, former headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, in León y Castillo street. It is a two-storey building, a landmark in the city, and an example of eclectic architecture for administrative purposes. It was built in the 1920s right in the heart of the historic centre of the capital of the island, Arrecife. It was named a Cultural Interest Site in 2002, and it underwent intense renovation work that has turned it into a modern and functional building, remaining true to its original facade

This as small museum with, it seems, exhibitions that vary regularly. I saw one on the local writer, Augustin Espinosa. Unfortunately, most of it was in Spanish, of which I have a mere smattering, but the helpful receptionist gave me a leaflet in English. Definitely...More

Worth a look. Photographic history of Arricefe. We spotted the postcards our grandparents bought when they visited in the 1970s!

Nice simple museum. History of Lanzarote based on postcards..you know what...it works. Friendly reception, only 2 euros admission. Having had holidays in the different resorts recognised some of the locations. An hour well spent.

I absolutely enjoyed the postcard exhibition. I learned a lot about different aspects of Lanzarote through reading the texts next to the exhibition pieces. If you like to learn a bit about the more recent history, this is a fun and interesting way.

Lovely old building and currently showing an exhibition of old postcards of the island. Much more interesting than it sounds, honest! €2 entrance fee each so reasonable. We are staying at the Arrecife Gran(d) Hotel and there were some old photos of that.
