You can easily walk out to the castle from the shore on either of two pathways. Castle seems in good condition and hosts a local history museum (€3 in)- but it's also a great point to look back at the city and along the coast.

A short walk over a bridge and you are at the Castillo, interesting views and good shots of Arrecife if you are a photographer.

You will feel in a different place. The view is just magic. There's a path with pebble stones, feeling like in the middle of the ocean!

Situated in a commanding position to suit it's purpose to defend the city. Well preserved and really worth a look.
