This is a great hike. It is long but not particularly difficult. There are some parts of the trail that have pretty deep sand that make you feel like you are walking in place. The trail is well marked. Taking a taxi to the trailhead...More

I did the night hike by the full moon and I must say would've been better to do in the daytime to be able to enjoy the views more and to avoid the cold.I recommend proper hiking shoes because the trail gets sandy and/or rocky.

The whole route, starting from El Pilar is about 16 km and you then have to get yourself back to your starting point somehow. But all the 'best' stuff is between El Pilar and the highest point [Deseada]. We did this and returned to El...More

This is the actual view of the volcanoes and lava. It is a great hike with lots to see but there is no shade. If you come without proper clothing or water, you will be in danger because it is very hot.

We did 4 treks overall in La Palma and they all covered different terrain but this was the best! You can easily get a taxi to El Pilar from los Llanos or Santa cruz (we picked one up from the taxi rank behind plaza de...More

We started from the camping grounds El Pilar and hiked to the top of the Desedea . Key is to pick a day and time so you do'nt end up in clouds and no visibility. Ask locals :-)
