It is an amazing beach and a big one too. We didn’t swim because of the weather but it was a playground for surfers! You have to go to Las Canteras if you are visiting Las Palmas. But I was glad I lived at playa...More
My wife and I always drive up-to Las Palmas and walk along Las Canteras sea front promenade during our annual trip to Gran Canaria. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Pick a day with good weather as it can be very...More
Las Canteras beach is a popular one. The day was sunny and windy. The sand is of gold color, and it is surrounded by rocky reef of volcanic origin called “la barra”, which reduces the strength of the waves and protects swimmers from getting carried...More
It’s a shame we had cloud cover the whole day but Playa de Las Canteras is a great beach with beautiful sand, interesting rock pools when the tide goes out, and a good number of sun beds for hire. The surrounding countryside is quite dramatic,...More

I know it’s not very helpful but I’d take a selection ..... when I was there in May it was quite chilly (not freezing or very cold.....more what we would call “fresh” especially at night so sweatshirts were a necessity as well as light rainwear). But in early September is was warm (not really scorching but some days it was in the 30’s and certainly sunny enough for a great tan) including at night when it was mild enough for short sleeves and even shorts. It’s winter now but in LP it’ll still be nice weather (but if you venture inland into the mountains you’ll notice the difference).
