We drove to here from Puerto de Mogan and what a lovely drive it was. We arrived around 12:00 hrs at the small carpark, but had the good luck of getting a parking space there, just across from were the walking path starts. I did...More
What a beautiful area to visit. We had a car for the duration of our trip which made things so easy for sightseeing and not being led like sheep and paying vast sums of money on an organised trip.

One of the highlights of our Gran Canaria trip. By car approx. 1 h away from Maspalomas. This way through the mountains is worthwhile in any case. There is a small kiosk down at the parking lot. We were lucky and got a parking place....More
We start our trek in Serranillos, I think it was called, we park the car nearby the road in an area where few more cars were and we start our way up. It’s easy but you have to have a minimum of fitness. It’s much...More
I visit the fantastic site Roque Nublo every year I go to Gran Canaria during the Christmas New/Year season.. Normally a beautiful experience. This year was not! The place has been "discovered" and is now swamped with people, at least on holidays and warm days....More
Drive into the hills, then walk up the rough, well used tracks to the top. Views are fantastic, we could see Mt Teide on Tenerife on the clear day we visited. I wouldn't recommend going if it's cloudy, as it would be pointless.

Went there three times, both in the morning (around 09,00),at noon, and afternoon/evening (17,00). During daytime not enjoyable at all with all people. In the evening everything was extremely beautiful, and very few people. Really liked it up there, amazing views!

A friend who has been walking on Gran Canaria for many years recommends Rambling Roger's website as a good source of information on walks. We have just returned and completed a couple of walks from Tasarte to Mogan and Ayacata to Roque Nublo (unfortunately had to abandon the latter due to bad weather!). We are in our sixties and walk regularly up to 10 miles.
