Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beach was not white, as we read somewhere earlier. More like red/black. The water there is calm so safe for children. Had a great day. Restaurants and shops nearby. Ample parking and not very busy. Popular with locals. Some free wicker umbrellas provided, lifeguard and showers. View of the harbor and the El Teide.

We stopped in La Gomera on a cruise last week and took a taxi to see the beauties of the island with a driver, Sam. At our first stop at Los Roques a blast of wind hit my husband in the back and propelled him towards a precipice. Unable to stop, he deliberately fell and hurt himself badly.

Sam was fantastic, taking charge, organising an ambulance, and then looking after me while Tony was given x-rays and a scan and then transferred to the major hospital in Tenerife. Sam acted as our guardian angel. He could not have been kinder, as if he was one of the family (to complete strangers he’d met only 20 minutes before). Hombre!

Only to say, if you need a taxi in San Sebastián be on the lookout for this lovely man. Full name Samuel Martin Febles, cell # 620 02 74 40.

As a PS, he refused to accept any payment for all he did for us. What a guy.

We had a 2 hour wait here before we caught our ferry back to Los Cristianos, after staying on the island for 2 nights. It is a lovely unspoilt town , very flat and easy to walk around . Lots of little eating places . The Small black sand beach was empty, it had a few straw sunshades which would be needed in the strong sun.
All in all a good interesting wait here for the ferry.

La Gomera absolute waste of 100 euros best thing about it was the ferry crossing the guide was very knowledgeable about gomera but the actual is just so boring you go on a coach up the mountain where you stop to see a place that grows vegetables not good like a run down garden centre then onto a cafe for lunch poor soup then small plate of stew and rice then on to the high light of the trip the national park where you get to see 6ft dandelions not interesting at all then walked through what can only be described as over grown wood for 20 minutes then that was it back to the coach and ferry back

Splendid Black Beach with the loveliest little place: Pajarita, where you can have a nice lunch in srroundings that are really good for the soul. If you walk to the far end you get the most fantastic wiev of Teide on Tenerife.

Near the town you can take a swim on a sand beach - not standard on La Gomera - The amenities are rudimental, but cross the road and you find a park with a kid playing ground. The beach is protected from the waves but not from the wind.

Did this trip from Tenerife as a Thompson excursion and it was delightful. Trip starts with a 50 minute large ferry ride from Santa Cruz to La Gomera. The Island itself is very small with its own micro climate but steeped in history. We had a lovely meal as well as some rather precarious mountain driving in the coach. All in all a good day out and good value for money.
