Lovely architecture in the old quarter or rather Historic Old Town area. Good photo opportunities and very busy area day and night. Lots cafes and bars nearby.

We walked through & took a few photos. The old Fish Market is now the Town Hall. Probably apposite. You have to work that one out. Of no specific interest.

Located at the isthmus of Old Gijon between two beachs, sports marina, and promenades. Great place from which to explore it all.

Nice open space but busy with people like me (tourists!) Some nice buildings on the sides but nothing outstanding.

This is a real plaza major for the locals to gather and hold events in from of the city hall. We watched an excellent traditional dance performance.

Part of the old centre of Gijón with a myriad of bars and restaurants and shops in the surrounding streets. Buzzing in the evenings.

The main square is located in the old area of Gijón. If you will drive by car, get to the new harbour where a private parking is available. Not many parking places around! Not very large, the square has certainly some charm as it is...More
