I went with a large group of students to the Museu del Pueblu d'Asturies in Gijon. We enjoyed walking through the open-air exhibits, which included several different horreos (granaries), a typical Asturian home, a cider house, and a mill. The exhibits were beautifully presented, including...More

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum. We visited both the main building (3 stories tall) as well as the surrounding houses and horreos. We got to visit the various utensils that the Asturianos used over the last 200-300 years. Highly recommended to anyone interested...More

My children and I went during the free hours on Sunday, and learned a lot about the development of Asturias over the past 150 years. The interior exhibits use a set of domestic themes and show how Asturias changed over time in regards to those,...More

Wonderful outdoor & indoor museum displaying the Asturias architecture and history. In the indoor facility (composed of 3 floors) you can view artifacts, dresses, cuisine, etc. that the "Asturianos" have utilized, worn, eaten, etc. over approximately the last two centuries. And in the outdoor area,...More

Beautiful museum exhibiting all types of artifacts from all around Asturias. Excellent collection laid-out in three floors, plus adjacent buildings (located in the grounds) depicting Asturias living standards from over a century ago. Definitely worth the visit!

Worth a couple of hours wandering through the this museum to gain an understanding of the history of Asturia. Artefacts from many centuries ago until 1950s and 1960s are on display. It is near the local football stadium which is also worth a look.

We visited this two years ago during our last visit to Gijon. Then, we'd been soaked to the skin by the endless heavy rain and hadn't really enjoyed the outside sights as much as we wanted. This time, the weather was better and so we...More

Excellent museum but spoiled for foreign visitors by an almost total lack of translation into any other language. If you can speak and, more importantly read Spanish, then it is fascinating. Spent a whole morning there and could have been there longer.
