Overview
More
As if it was a premonition, Amalio constituted before a notary the foundation that bears his name just eight days before his death , on February 3, 1995 . Some years ago , in 1973 , Amalio bought the house No. 7 Dona Elvira de Sevilla and established his studio there . The painter wanted the Giralda close , I wanted to contemplate whenever he pleased to paint at all hours of the day or night , in winter and summer. He himself sent record on the tile facade this personal and full of emotional connotations phrase : " Amalio has put this house on the Giralda to have her. " I also wanted the phrase was in the three languages of the three cultures that have lived in Seville: Christian , Arabic and Hebrew , as a symbol of tolerance and coexistence among peoples. This house is the headquarters of the foundation whose " object and purpose is the promotion , dissemination , cultivation and study of the art of painting, without involving contempt or veto with the rest of the arts. special interest to the legacy and work, pictorial and literary artist painter Amalio Garcia del Moral will be dedicated " as stated in the foundational writing it. The foundation has been funded almost exclusively by the widow of the painter, Dona Marina Mora, also a painter, who from the beginning was clear that her husband was still living in his work and that money and assets that had left him remained of the two . She owns the house-headquarters, has rented for one euro per month. The activities that have been developed have been faithful reflection of the mandate of its founder. There have been several exhibitions of paintings, among which must, in addition to the permanent highlight the work of the painter, those of his daughter Maria Jose Garcia del Moral has addressed new techniques and experiences creating a "scope" of oil, mirror and music that filled an entire room and in which the observer became part of the picture or pictures, depending on where it was located; as well as other novice or consecrated as Avelina Calvo and Miguel Angel Olcina painters. The development of children's creativity has been present on several occasions in coordination with a research group at the University of Seville and there have been end exhibitions during children between four and five years and a painting contest child whose theme was The Giralda. Workshops have also been held Ceramics that have had great support popular. we are in a city of great ceramists and large ceramic heritage. These conferences have had the double intention to form and claim a greater mime in preserving the rich legacy left us trianeros potters of the past; just think of the magnificent display of pottery is the Plaza of Spain, built on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition of 1929. Also, in our effort because the museum is a meeting place and communication with the rest of society, concerts, poetry readings and activities are intended to encourage and overcome the preconception museum develop. See without looking where the assistant wanders around and feel the works of art of the painter with touch, Savor Sevilla in front of the Giralda which aims to convey and evoke sensations for the senses, Search and find the Giralda or our workshops for small are a clear example of a museum with few resources working in the same direction: that silence does not it take over Amalio figure. Three doctoral theses have already been read and published on Amalio as a painter and poet and two more under development. These studies have had and have the support of the foundation that provides access to documents. But let's get into character, the painter, the poet and man. Amalio painted a lot and in many ways, ways and with different techniques, it was a restless continually in search of the best way to convey your feelings through painting man.

We happened upon this delightful little house. We were warmly greeted and given information about the artist, his daughter, the house and his art work. Lovely view of the Cathedral that assumed a big role in the art work.

The feeling that invaded you when visiting the museum was the same that inspired the painter, Amalio, to paint the Giralda, the tower of the cathedral, so many times (365). He could admired the tower from every window of this house-estudio. Thanks for your opinion.
