Another Chapel
May 2019
Capilla de los Marineros is another lovely little church. It is quite elaborate, but a little limited in its extent. It is on the "other" side of the river, and we came across it while heading to another venue. Not a must-see, but it might be worth a quick stop if you happen to be nearby.

Another lovely Triana church
Jun 2019
This was the first Triana church we visited on our cycling tour of Seville. Set in a peaceful street parallel to the river, the Chapel of the Sailors has a beautiful alterpiece. Well worth a visit.

Unassuming frontage holds a treat
Sep 2019 • Couples
Having visited some of the more popular ecclesiastical buildings. Sneaking past the leather door guard was a real treat. It is a chapel, the inside of which I found more interesting than the cathedral.

Small but interesting church
Jul 2019 • Couples
Across the bridge to the district of Triana and you will find this small but very interesting church. If you visit the Flamenco at Teatro then you will be in the same area for this building.

Beautiful little Church on the streets of Triana, a district reached from Seville across one of the many bridges.

A quick visit as you go
Jun 2018 • Couples
This little chapel is perhaps the oldest church in Triana. In principle, older that the Cathedral of Santa Ana. Triana was a fishermen village and so, their devotion was paid in this church since the middle ages. It has nothing special to serve as a objective of visit, but you should visit it if you are strolling through Triana.

Modern building - few ancient statues: not worth the detour
Sep 2018 • Couples
As some other churches in Seville ( Macarena, Jesus del Gran Poder...) this is an example of traditional architecture going on in the 20th century, because of the religiosity
of Spanish society and elite, during Franco 's dictature, from 1939 ( after civil war ) up to 1975. The style of this church is then average, with nothing noticeable. For those who like dramatic Spanish sculpture, there are one or two pathetic ones.
You had much rather go and visit the "cathedral of Triana": Santa Ana, one of the most beautiful church of Seville.

Impressive local church in Triana
Jun 2018 • Couples
This is a small but active local, historical church in Triana. Unlike some of the grand cathedrals and larger churches that Spain has to offer, it’s on a much more human scale, and thus more accessible (and much less tiring to visit).

The altarpiece – “Our Lady of Hope” – is quite dramatic and well-executed, if you like that kind of thing. It’s very much the sort of ornate, human representation of religious figures that they seem to go for in a big way in Spain. (Though I can’t help thinking of Madame Tussaud’s whenever I encounter such an image …..)

The church gives a specific, cultural and sociological perspective on human belief systems that is worthy of interest, no matter what one’s own belief system might be.
