Like so many palaces in Spain, this was originally built by the Moor Caliph and taken over by the Catholic monarch. Our tour was really a dramatic interpretation of the contribution of Bartolome Murillo to the Spanish crown. We moved from room to room to...More

I bought a ticket on line for 1€ more which allowed me to skip the line and enter at an allotted time. Best 1€ spent! This building is spectacular with the intentional mix of Muslim and Christian architecture, capturing the best of both. The tile...More

There was a long line to get in, but it moved quickly. Better time for visiting the gardens would be in spring or early summer, because in autumn part of plants were gone already and there were empty places. The palace is huge and needs...More

I was quite looking forward to visiting the Real Alcazar after reading so many positive reviews, but was left feeling very underwhelmed. Maybe you need to be a real architecture buff or a Game Of Thrones fan to really appreciate it, but we found ourselves...More

Three ways of gaining entry- as part of a pre booked tour group with a guide, by booking and paying on line, or by-as we did just turning up. This is a long slow moving queue as the pre-booked take priority and there is a...More

The Alcazar is well worth a visit as are the private rooms (for which you pay an extra fee). The buildings and gardens are really interesting and you can take several hours walking round. If you pay the extra to visit the private rooms make...More

I warmly recommend taking the additional tour of the royal appartments. It must be reserved and paid in advance. The well preserved palaces display arab-style intriquate ornamentations. The gardens are really beautiful.

A feast for the eyes, there's so much to see, so many different styles and the gardens alone are stunning, in fact if you can do allow for a couple of hours at the end of the tour just for that as they can't be...More

We had pre- booked tickets and were glad that we did. The line was very long and we could skip it. Did a self tour with audio guides and it was plenty of information. Spent about 2 hours here admiring the mosaics and Moorish architecture....More

Not to worry - the shorter line is the one for ticket-holders so just follow the queue; there are staff members at the entry and exit points to guide you. Enjoy - it's awesome!
