In the mining park of Riotinto you can do a different railway journey, penetrate into a mine, visit a real victorian house and know about the history of a totally transformed mining bowl. Everything at hand at the minig park of Riotinto.

My simple advice is to focus on the museum and the train ride especially if you didn’t speak and Spanish !!!!! The trip to La Peña is really oddly organised - 30/40 cars have to follow the guide in his car and then only to...More

Travel on a train and go back in time across a landscape that's more similar to mars than earth, a bygone era of British rule and industrial revolution, we stayed nearby at the Victorian House Rio Tinto which is only 10 minutes walk from the...More

Well worth a day-trip visit from Sevilla if you have a geological interest or want to see extreme terrains, both natural and man-made. It will become very apparent why there are references to the area being used for research about Mars. The overall area has...More

We had to drive 1.30 hours from our place to get there but it was very worthy. On a hot day, with kids, was very relaxing and so beautiful landscape. Because of the train, kids could take the hit and we all could enjoy this...More

Although this was quite a long drive up from Huelva, it was well worth the experience. We only went to the museum, which had a whole variety of exhibitions, examining the changes in the landscape and the devastation it has caused to the local area,...More

We visited the Rio Tinto mine and went on the 90 minute train journey around the mine. Ages ranged between 6 and 65. Everyone had a lovely time! Points to note the train only goes a few times a day. Usually 1.30pm and 5pm seems...More

This museum is all about the mining of the ore around the town and also about the British when they were here from the 1880's to the 1950's. The train trip is well worth it, 90 minutes. A new attraction since our last visit is...More

The tour includes a visit to the excellent museum, a ride on the old mineral railway in genuine 1919 carriages (steam only once a month; diesel otherwise) and a visit to an old iron mine - and is very good value for money. You travel...More

Sorry we cannot help - we travelled there by car. The Museum's own website only give instructions (in Spanish) for arriving by car, which suggests that there is no alternative. The Seville Tourist Office may be of help.
