The building is being renovated and the best you can do is look at the Phoenician ruins through dirt encrusted windows. All the artifacts are at the museum of Cadiz.More

This archeological site shows the phoenician origin of the city and the subsequent transformation into roman city ... Very well preserved phoenician oven and roman salting drier for fish.

The city of Gadir was one of the oldest Phoenician settlements in the West. This archeological site shows different periods of a settlement. Walking by the site you would never realize what is inside. The site is completely enclosed in what looks like a museum....More

They were closed from 2-4, so we showed up at 4, only to find a sign saying they were coming back at 4:45 and the 5:00 tour was not available, so we can't see it until 6. Darn.... we were looking forward to it.

The tour is limited to 25 people at a time. Get there and grab your ticket ahead of time. Very worthwhile experience.
