This museum is a little out of the way but is worth visiting. It has many altar pieces from the 13th - the 15th centuries and some very old furniture.Old ceilings with leather wallpaper.

We only visited the St Anne-Museum. I'm more than a little kinky for Northern German carved and painted altars, so I barely made it to the second floor here with its reconstructed rooms. I was in heaven looking at all the altars. The Hans Memling...More

Have previously visited the St. Annen Museum part which is OK. Disapointing visit to the Kunsthalle part, mainly due to the unfriendly lady on reception.

This museum has a fine collection of paintings, altarpieces and sculpture, including a gorgeous altarpiece by Hans Memling. Not to be missed! The second floor is furnished like a wealthy merchant's home, with good collections of furniture, porcelain, etc.

The best museum of sacral art we ever saw ! ! ! Obviously an unknown gem. Sculptured wooden altarpieces, paintings, statues and many more. Unique. In an ideal environment: an old monastery dating back to the early 16th century.

We had limited expections, but the museum was really excellent. It had beautiful pieces from churches and monasteries from all over, including a spectacular Memling altarpiece. The guide on the upper level was exceptionally helpful.

Situated in a former convent this museum has a contemporary part, the Kunsthalle (which unless you are interested in contemporary art can safely be skipped) and the St Annen museum itself. The St Annen Museum is based around the old cloister. It is split between...More

This museum was my top priority in Lübeck and it exceeded my expectations. Frankly, I would have been happy with the museum if I had only seen the Memling altarpiece (absolutely gorgeous) but there was so much more to see and it was curated beautifully....More

Different Christian cults. Very impressed. Multiple Marys. Hairy Mary. Surprised to see so many lovely things outside a capital city.

The St. Annen Museum has an incredible collection of clerical medieval altars, a dedicated and friendly staff and a more than worthwhile multimedia presentation to Lübeck and Hanseatic League history - very informative, if you take the time to dive in!
