Beautiful Crystal Clear Green Waters of the Baltic Sea, a popular hangout for tourists, A must visit in the summer, with lot of cool restaurants and a white sandy beach . A nice place to get your tan on.

There is a street you can walk down with stores and cafes and restaurants. Lots of parking nearby. And toilets. If you get bored at the beach you can walk along the pier, go into the lighthouse (which closes at 4pm) or take a boat...More

The area visited by crowds of people, well organized, good quality restaurants, many shops. The beach itself covered with pieces of shells, which are very unpleasant for walking bare feet.

Busy beach - but it’s very Long and wide so there’s plenty of room. Loads of sun chairs available to rent. The water is cold and there’s lots of seaweed but it’s clean. Seems to be populated mostly by domestic German tourists.

Travemunde is a busy port, but the beaches are pretty cool. Goodcrestaurants everywhere although some of the prices are steep. Nearby lakes and beaches like Timmendorfer provide a nice day trip.

Great area to sight see, eat and drink, hit the beach, stroll and people watch. Shopping is also plentiful. The restaurants are fantastic - some of the best food in europe. Germany does not get the credit it deserves for their cuisine and excellence in...More

We visited Travemunde when we were on a cruise. It is a lovely seaside town with a lovely clean beach. It is worth a visit.

When visiting Lübeck, a 30 minute train rider to the beach is worth the trip. Lovely beach with chairs to rent; however, we just swam. One can do a nice day trip from Hamburg. With the Schleswig Holstein group train ticket, we paid €35 for...More

Our small cruise ship anchored right in the centre of the town and we were welcomed by a local choir singing area songs. Easy relaxed atmosphere with many small shops to browse. Long beach in one direction. We noticed a solitary, ugly tower block as...More

As an Aussie I was interested to observe a European way of spending time at the seaside. The beaches were covered with wicker seats-with-a-bonnet, which I presume you pay to hire. The cafes all sold fish and chips and/or ice cream. The attraction for me...More

I would recommend to get a reservation, as many restaurants will probably have a special arrangements for a New Years Eve.

In Lubeck, enjoy wandering round the old cobbled streets of the Altstadt, and see the Holstentor, the old city gate. There are many lovely old buildings and churches. After that, you could spend a pleasant hour on a boat... More
