We enjoyed about 3 hours walking and stopping along this long beach. It is a great place for kids - very cool playground and trampoline swings. A short drive from Lubeck.

It was nice to spend afternoon in this cozy beach by the Baltic sea. We went to Trawemunde from Lubeck by train - it's easy, quick and quite cheap. Be aware that Baltic waters are cold even in the summer.

As the Cunard, Queen Elizabeth ship pulled into port, we were greeted by a wall of locals lining the shore. When we left, we were escorted by a fleet of boats. We were given British flags to wave as we left. This was apparently a...More

There is a street you can walk down with stores and cafes and restaurants. Lots of parking nearby. And toilets. If you get bored at the beach you can walk along the pier, go into the lighthouse (which closes at 4pm) or take a boat...More

The area visited by crowds of people, well organized, good quality restaurants, many shops. The beach itself covered with pieces of shells, which are very unpleasant for walking bare feet.

Busy beach - but it’s very Long and wide so there’s plenty of room. Loads of sun chairs available to rent. The water is cold and there’s lots of seaweed but it’s clean. Seems to be populated mostly by domestic German tourists.

Travemunde is a busy port, but the beaches are pretty cool. Goodcrestaurants everywhere although some of the prices are steep. Nearby lakes and beaches like Timmendorfer provide a nice day trip.

Great area to sight see, eat and drink, hit the beach, stroll and people watch. Shopping is also plentiful. The restaurants are fantastic - some of the best food in europe. Germany does not get the credit it deserves for their cuisine and excellence in...More

I would recommend to get a reservation, as many restaurants will probably have a special arrangements for a New Years Eve.

In Lubeck, enjoy wandering round the old cobbled streets of the Altstadt, and see the Holstentor, the old city gate. There are many lovely old buildings and churches. After that, you could spend a pleasant hour on a boat... More
