Although this summer has been hot and no rain for months, the gardens around the Palace were stunning. We took a boat trip on the Elbe from Dresden to the Palace. It was so relaxing on the boat and then round the gardens. The Aperol...More

This huge palace is laid out like the Louvre, with a main section and 2 long wings spreading out away from it. The grounds are well worth spending an afternoon exploring - be sure to visit the tropical greenhouse. Only 14 km from the heart...More

If you were the Elector of Saxony, living in the Baroque Splendour of Dresden you might just yearn for the simple life in the country. Get in your state barge and have them row you down the river to Pilnitz and build a little summer...More

The castle is a bit far from the city centre but it is definitely worth the trip. You can take a bus to get there or a tram+ferry depending on your whereabouts. We took the bus 63 and it was a lovely trip. We passed...More

A walk back in time, experiencing the aura of past glory... peaceful and enthralling... the gardens are beautiful and peaceful... the castle itself so full of atmosphere and charm.

4 stars because it was closed during Wintertime. Bit disappointed (my fault though, should have checked on the net before). Otherwise it's a beautiful Palace with big Garden and Park. Wish to have chance to come back in Sommer or so.

A beautiful Castle, not to big, medium size . Amazing garden area, with a great collection of plants and trees from all over the world. In the gardens they had a great art collection exposed. Overall a great day, the only downside is the price...More
