Enjoyed the peace and serenity of this church. The organ recital (scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday) was enjoyable. The climb to the tower is half the price of the Church of Our Lady (4 euros) and leads to just as spectacular views of the city.

This church like all the rest in Dresden was destroyed by the firestrom bombing but unlike the HofKirche and the Fraunkirche it has been left plain, its original features are few but it has an air of quiet calm.

The church has a huge historical importance in Dresden which can be seen on the photos displayed on the side wall. Another feature that makes this church a tourist stop is the visit to the tower (4 EUR) which gives a beautiful 360-degrees view of...More

After the sugar-pink disappointment of the Frauenkirche, this church conveys a more potent sense of the suffering and recovery of Dresden. Tower views are instructive: when I last visited c. 1992 a wasteland of ruins and Tarmac stretched to Pragerstrasse - now it's all shiny...More

The visit here made the total destruction go Dresden during WW2 very real to me. The restoration makes it very clear. A quiet church to visit but I thing a must.
