Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stumbled on this beach while in port, collected shells, and walked along the water. There are tons of rental cabanas PLUS boardwalks that run from the strand to mid-water.

We didn't actually walk on the sand but you can easily see the beach from the walk on the Mole. It's quite wide and fairly flat - lots of folks on the beach in early May on a warm, sunny day.

Plus: easy to reach with public transport, only 20 mins from Rostock, plenty of food and leisure boat options.
Minus: big crowds not only from the cruises ships, but also regular local and regional tourists, very touristic place with many cheap eateries etc.
If you only have 2-3 hours in Rostock, this is a nice option to explore the beach. If you have more time, better go to a less artificial place. There are many beautiful coast spots in the area.

Beautiful beach to walk on, even in winter. The Baltic See looks quite and calm (almost no waves).
Along the beach some hotels, like the Neptun

Wide beach with nice fine sand. Ideal for families with kids, because if playing grounds, shallow water often low easy waves

We visited here late summer, seemed to be a beautiful place for the summer. The walk along the waters edge and the small shops put the icing on the cake for us. A lighthouse nearby.

North German Baltic wind...a should see! There is something special, wind swept and unique, even though the tourist season had not begun. This is the former DDR. It was here that both the political elite and Stasi agents took vacations in arranged vacation homes and cottages, dependent on their rank and seniority. It's not exactly a proud period in German history, but the fact that Germans survived WW1 post-Versailles retribution, Nazi National Socialism, and then the fear and rigors of Soviet era Communism, makes this area chock full if a tremendously unique sociopolitical backdrop. To not see the sands of Warnemünde and the scenic coastline northeast of here, along the Baltic Sea, without that understanding would be amiss. The people - especially those 50+ years and older were shaped by that history, as were their families. All that history played out in this northern German vacation landscape. It whispers still, as the wind bends the trees in a constant flow and makes this a particularly unique area. I think you should experience it yourself before it's all gone and forgotten!

The beach here is sandy and clean. There are plenty of places near to eat or get ice creams or coffee. Ideal for children as it is large and a long way from the water. There are also a small selection of shops and many hotels. There is also a Lidl within walking distance!

Its a nice beach with many facilities..., surrounding many souvenir shops and good restaurants. Always busy in summer because of many cruise ships.

We stopped here in the evening. It's a typical beach resort town type area. There are lots of nice shops and restaurants. We loved seeing the lighthouses and ships. There are many hotels but we stayed in hostel nearby. We saw more locals and Germans and not many foreign tourists. The place very European. It's a fun place to be out and walk around at night.
