It looked weird from outside. The people who live in here are outside having fun and even talk to strangers.

We walked through blocks of beautiful gardens, stately and historical buildings, and traditional German architecture and came upon this other-worldly apartment building. It was built 22 years ago, but looks much older. It has not aged well. Artistically it looks the simple elegance of great architecture.

Some cities with these characteristic buildings are rare. When you are in one of these cities, it is better to get the opportunity to see this kind of buildings. Let me tell you that this is fun to see but surely not to live within. The visit took not too much and you get the idea of how crazy an architect may be.

We are Hundertwasser fans and have seen his work in Vienna and rural Franconia. I did not expect to see such a BIG example. Note that parking is not simple to find.

I love it more with each and every visit! It is a must. The architecture is stunning. This visit, we were lucky enough to park the car and walk around it. Beautiful!! It always leaves me wondering...who lives there? How are the apartments on the inside, with all those rounded walls?

The Hundertwasser accommodation is situated in an average housing complex and surrounded by ordinary flats. Horse-shoe shaped the 'Waldspirale' is highest at it's curved corner... actually I've just seen a photo and I'm wrong; it gradually gets higher. I made a point of visiting the scene; everyone near Darmstadt should. Being able to live in this building is a gift.

Designed by a famous architect "Waldspirale" is worth visiting it. Although I live in Darmstadt, I still love the architecture. Next to the house is a cheap supermarket ALDI.

Yes, it should be like a painting as in fact some Austrian artist designed it not an architect. As it's an existing residential building you won't be able to go inside but you will be able to go around and witness all the curved lines and shapes weird windows and columns. Good place to visit for the people who have interest in architecture.

Exciting piece of architecture. Created by Hundertwasser around 1900 with rounded walls, a pond inside and so on. House with many flats for families.

Nothing very special about the place. It's a fancy building which can be seen due to its architecture. Would not recommend as a to do.

Hallo, wo haben Sie denn das Lokal gefunden. Wir hatten zwar (in einem etwas älteren Darmstadtbuch) davon und von einem schönen Ausblick gelesen, aber leider keinen Hinweis gefunden?
