The museum is very large with many different collections. We focused on the Jugentstil (Art Nouveau) collection which was very good. It will take several days to explore this giant museum which contains so much and interesting items.

Only a brief visit on my first trip to Darmstadt. The building is lovely and the museum much larger than I expected so could easily have spent 4hrs there. It's more of a 'classical' museum, the kind I remember as a child, whereas many these...More

150.000 population city but very big, full of historical artifacts, new design modelings. You can spend half of your day in a quick visit. And see too many things. Also impressive for children.

The art is great, too...but the lights..oh God...terrible! The don't do the art justice, definitely not. The light...More

Huge and with a number of varying collections, a few hours could easily be spent here, ranging from Judenstil to Egyption, Japanese, Anthropological and everything in between. Next visit we are going to bring the niece and nephew.

The Landesmuseum is a small but wonderfully museum that boasts an excellent collection of natural history and a small but decent art exhibition. Great for children as well as adults to see and learn. To see the museum in full takes about 2 hours and...More
