About HaRuFa Maritime Tourismus
The perspective from which our barges let you experience Bremerhaven is absolutely unique. Only on our harbour tours you can appreciate the impressive, huge dimensions of freighters and transport ships and admire them so closely. The round trip starts directly in the new touristy heart of Bremerhaven, on the South end of the New Harbour and just a stone’s throw from other tourist attractions like the German Emigration Center Bremerhaven or the “Klimahaus,” a climate research and exhibition centre. Taking off from our pier, the one-hour trip takes us through the New Harbour and the so-called Kaiserhäfen (Emperor’s Harbours) I, II and III, where you can take a look at the new enlarged watergate “Kaiserschleuse” while driving by.

If you don’t speak native German you won’t understand much of this tour - instead I would recommend to rent a bike which is cheaper!!!!usually I can understand German tour guide but this guide spoke SO fast.. German laughed so it was probably funny.. On top of that the staff in the Harbour was so rude.. Asked for at ticket for the next boat. Got tickets for the boat after that instead (1 hour later).. Instead the Germans behind us got the tickets for the next boat. Staff refused to solve this. They served overpriced bear and sodas on board.

Our group enjoyed the Bremerhaven Harbour tour. We were able to see various ships, dry docks and the shore line activity while onboard. It was a good experience for me because German is my second language, so I was able to understand most of the commentary. It was both informative and interesting!

We went around in a boat for like an hour and saw all the big ships up close, as well as the harbor facilities. Best way to see all the ships, I highly recommend. They're really big and it's unlikely you'll ever get a chance to see them up close again! It was in all German, it would have been nice if there was an information pamphlet in English. I don't speak German but my husband does so I was poking him and going "did he say anything interesting? What does that boat do?" Still cool if you don't speak German though.

This boat tour is a fun experience. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is that they only spoke German when we took the tour, if they update it to include English, it is easily worth at least 4 stars. It was still really cool as the tour boat weaves through out the active shipping harbor (for about 45 minutes) and pauses under gigantic shipping boats and to give you excellent picture opportunities. Even getting glimpses of various dry docks where ships are currently undergoing repairs and refits. Even though I didn't understand more than a couple words the guide spoke, it was well worth the time. Especially if you're a boat/harbor enthusiast. :-) Safe travels!
