Found this street when looking for the tourist info centre which is located here. That in itself is very good as are the shops and historic building here too. Only a small area but good to enjoy a beer in the pub here too
This looks old, but is a 1920's and 30's reconstruction from a historicists perspective.

walking around the main street, back to the market square, on the left you'll find a sign leading you to this area.
It's really full with artesan boutiques, craft shops and little art exibits.
This block or two long mideavl walking street (more like an alley) is marvelous. It contains a tourist office, many craft shops, bars, and the very unusual Glockenspiel. It opens onto the old town Marktplaz.

What sets Böttcherstraße apart from many other streets of old buildings is the many courtyards off the main thoroughfare with interesting features and artworks. Well worth taking the time for a walk, perhaps on way to or from the river.
