it was a pretty small museum but it did have some cool old christmas things. it's probably worth a quick run through, but it does close pretty early so make sure you check the hours.

So here's the deal. This woman Kathy Wolhardt, while technically not eventing or owning Christmas, seems to have licenced Christmas in Germany. Everywhere you go there is a Kathy Wolhardt Christmas shop. The granddaddy of all these Christmas shops is a double or triple storefront...More

The Christmas museum and store are connected. That is convenient. I did expect more from the museum. It does give information on the first ornament, Christmas tree, nutcracker, etc...but I was underwhelmed with the displays.

Christmas trees first gained popularity in Germany and the German Christmas Museum will tell you all about its origins. The museum is upstairs with the shop on the main level. Both are good size. As a Christmas lover, this was a must see for me.

I thought I knew a lot about the history of Christmas things, but this museum showed me how much I did not know. What a vast collection of so many aspects of Christmas and the decorations used over time. For anyone who collects Christmas decorations...More

This place goes on forever!! We got totally lost in it looking at all the historical decorations and then being shunted into the STORE where you could spend thousands of Euros on all sorts of Christmas stuff!!

This is a wonderful record of Christmas - German style and the rest of the world. Fascinating exhibits that revealed many secrets of the evolution of this festive period every year. Well worth the entry fee

Note: The 3* is for the museum itself, the shop is a definite 5*. The museum has an added cost to the shop it resides in and takes maybe 30 minutes to walk through. It describes Christmas customs and has many examples linked to them....More

We paid the €4 as it was summertime and the city was busy. The museum was quiet though and we enjoyed seeing all the old decorations. It was enjoyable.
