I would highly recommend city tour organized by "Alt-Rothenburger Handwerkerhaus". The concept of this tour is craftsman widower, she is a fine lady who has been married with more than one craftsman. So, she knows everything about crafting and she tells you all about it....More

Possibly one of the most moving house tours you can ever take. To see what hardship our ancestors endured to bring us to our current civilization is humbling.

Interesting old home. Limited information on the brochure. Would have been fascinating to know more, like what some of the many implements were for, and who lived in the second-best bedroom, and the one upstairs. Were they employees? Family members? Tenants? But still, a treat...More

This is one of the only houses in the city of Rothenburg that has not had its interior modified and is like stepping back in time to a simpler age. It is filled with medieval artifacts, some related to home life and the rest to...More

Who wouldn't want to see the inside of a 1000 year old house? I love this kind of stuff, and my kids thought it was neat, but it really is a little too expensive for what you get - a self-guided tour of a home...More

It is very hard to "catch" this place open, but since we knew it we planned our visit so by the time of 2pm we will be at the museum. A little place with genuine items from the middle ages, you can really experience life...More

Due to a lot of luck, including the last full time resident being a hermit, this house remains unchanged, even in its interior, from the middle ages. No electricity, the original internal well, floors, etc, etc. Right up to the attic room. Full of period...More

This house was built in 1200's and was lived in as recent as 1968. Oldest house I've ever been in, worth checking out. Cost about 5 Euro and takes15-20 minutes to tour. Worth seeing, tall folks will have to duck.

We love history and trying to get a look into how our ancestors lived and survived and this exhibit is excellent. Gives you a close-up look at how a merchant family lived when Rothenburg was a high-end trading city. Highly recommend.

This is a 900 year old house in which, until a few decades ago, was occupied by an old recluse without water or power! Had it's own well and a backyard out house, and made do with candles. Interesting to see how the side of...More
