The market is quickly reached after the main gate and a stop at Tourist Office and "rest room". The market lives!! - it is crowed with people going on with their business and many others enjoying the sidewalk restaurants.

Perfect area of town to sit and watch the world go by, lovely farmers market every Saturday. Plenty of coffee shops and bakeries nearby.

Weinmarkt is the town center, close to Marktplatz. It is the place you see the most beautiful buildings in the town.

Dinkelsbuhl is an incredible town, straight from the 1500s. The Weinmarkt is just one of many ancient buildings. It is worth spending at least a full day in the town.

I don't believe so; most of (shopping/tourism shopping) Germany closes on 1300hrs on Saturday ... only restaurants and museums open on Saturday afternoons and Sundays.
