Imagine you are in the nature to see exotic animals and not in an artificial landscape - then you are in Nuremberg Zoo! All of the fenced-in areas are built to fit in the existing terrain. The "house" of lions, pumas and similar animals is...More

I think we went in their off season probably only saw 30 people the day we went but that made the experience so magical. So many animals that we went and visited came out for us, sometimes they thought we were their feeders and would...More

We had a lovely visit here on Boxing Day with our 2 year old daughter. So many of the animals have inside enclosures and the whole zoo is in a huge woodland with gorgeous walks between the large exhibits. We couldn’t believe how close we...More

We spent a lot longer here than we'd expected. The zoo is built on the side of a hill, and set in woodland. Highlights are gorillas, snow leopard, fishing cat and underwater viewing areas for penguins, seals and manatees. There are also some habitat areas....More

Great zoo. It was very quiet due to the time of year, made it feel like we had our own private zoo. Very well organised with good facilities. The dolphin show was fantastic. The animals are cared about and well looked after. Would definitely recommend.

Zoo is quite big, yet the number of animals is not huge which is good for animals as it result in a great space for them. The biggest upside is dolphinarium with great dolphin show!

It's rather far away. No way to walk from the train station to the zoo as you would waist the whole morning on the way. The best thing to do is to take tram number 5, whose final stop is right in front of the zoo entrance... More
