We were really looking forward to this museum but unfortunately we were in and out within 10 minutes- only 2 labels in English and absolutely nothing interactive/practical for the kids to enjoy.

Dodged in simply to get out of the rain, thinking there may be some interesting things to see. Having paid to get in (including a student discount), and nearly being short-changed by 20 euros, this place is barely a museum. The main exhibition is in...More

Germany's alpine huts and trails are among the world's best, so for those who love the mountains, this museum is well worth a visit - plus the location and peaceful indoors-outdoors cafe is a beautifully sited, walking along the beautiful Isar river to find it.

As I said it would be interesting for the people that are in love with mountains. The history of German Alpine Society (DAV, Deutsches Alpenverein) is covered here from the very beginning, as well as the birth of mountain sport in general.
