This botanical garden is a little jewl. If you feel that you have to escape the crouds, then come here. The garden is beautifully kept and there are many little corners where you can sit by yourself and contemplate. There is also a cafe.
Take the tram 17 and get off at "Botanischer Garten".
Nice walk in a "garden" where you see plenty of exotic trees, plants... and flowers (depending on the season, in September it was Dahlia-time).
Lunch/snack place with a nice view. (cash only).

For me, who am a biologist, this visit to the Botanical Garden was worth it. The place has beautiful plants and virtually all plants have identification of their scientific names. A dream for the botanists! It is possible to have lunch in the restaurant that...More
Something a bit different, and perhaps with a look. If one is knowledgeable on flora they will get more out of this. There is some interesting information, but not that accessible or interactive for novices.
We were advised that the greenhouses are closed for renovation until October, but another part of the garden is also closed. We visited the garden with medicinal plants as well as the rose garden. The rhododendrons were not blooming, unfortunately. Still, this is an enjoyable...More
After many visits to Munich, but never making it in the Nymphenburg Botanical Gardens,
I decided this time to do it as a had a couple of spare hours. Absolutely NO regret, despite the fact, that the 'greenhouses' are presently under renovation.
