This is a small museum but they have some good displays, some are in English. It is worth a stop, especially with kids interested in fossils and such. The building and nearby houses are very picturesque as well.

Although the paleontologist museum is featured in the brochures as something impressive in the reality is just a small hall in a classical building featuring some replicas of skeletons of extinct species. There is nothing original or excavated fossils. It is basically addressed to schools...More

The place is tiny, it's basically just one hall with a bunch of dinosaurs' skeletons. But they have a lot of famous ones and any kid would be happy to see those. Besides, it's free, which makes it totally worth visiting and gives a couple...More

We went there early in the morning, it was empty, just a few workers there, and the place is great, it is not big, but it has some examples of dinosaurs, great explanation ( in English also) and it was very interesting to my boys.

A small museum with free entry and a nice exhibition (dinosaurs! bones! fossils! yay!!!). Not every info label was translated to English, but I still appreciated it.

This museum (and the attached geological exhibits) are housed in the atrium of the University department, so it is only open during working hours. The museum is a little hard to find, and it is free, so we were not sure what to expect. However...More

This museum falls into my favorite category of small and funky. It's tucked away in an old building with very poor signage leading you to it, and consists of three or four floors of hosting a small collection of fossils and such from pre-Cambrian to...More

A few steps from Konigsplatz. It will not take you much time, but the exhibition is impressive. Do not miss the beautiful Richard Wagner Strasse nearby.

A lovely little museum, with free entry, tucked a short walk away from the centre of Munich. Great displays of the important Solnhofen fossils and Archaeopteryx. Not well advertised, or signposted though. The addition of a small shop would be great for buying postcards etc....More
