I had the most awesome time during the ski jumping event. Just take some very very warm boots. it was extremely cold and the event takes the entire day. We came with a train from Austria and had to walk for about 25min.

As the site of actual Olympics competitions, we’ll wirth a visit and provide great photo opportunities. If you take the short climb up the stairs past where judges of the annual ski jump competitions sit, you can have a great view of The Valley. There...More

Our stop turned into primarily a WC stop, but a few Olympic sports buffs were truly enamored with everything visible, especially the ski jump track. It is rather awesome to see and it is well maintained for a relic of 1936 and 1968.

Interesting place for a short visit. This is the site of the 1936 Winter Olympics. Worth the visit to see the stadium and the 4 ski jumps. I was in awe looking up at the height of them. The stadium itself is under a lot...More

Not much to do, but we were glad to make a brief visit. The ski jump was impressive, and the place has a historic feel. Take a look at my photo--it pretty much conveys the whole scene.

This is the ski jump arena that was used in the 1936 winter olympics. The jumps as you would expect are not the originals however it does not take much imagination to admire the courage of the early pioneers of this sport and the current...More

Worth a stop while visiting the nearby gorge. We were there in May, so not a whole lot going on, but still very interesting to visit and there are places to eat, relax and imagine the ski jumpers coming down the impressive ski jump as...More

there's not much to do there, but still worth paying a visit given the history. yes, the Olympic stadium and the jumping piste are impressive, but that's almost all there's here. there's a ski piste nearby, and it looks nice, but it's only one, so...More

It was in 1936 where Garmisch-Partienkirchen hold the winter Olympics in this city in Bavaria. It has been preserved and still in use until now for practice of this winter sport the Ski Jumping. I am happy to see this when we visited the place....More

For us this was a must see, a part of history that quite frankly the Olympic movement should be ashamed of. If you aren't that into history or sport it probably isn't that interesting.
