We took the bus on to the Olympic Stadium. We visited the 1936 Winter Olympic Games Museum. It was quite frank about how Jews were treated and how Hitler propagandized to show how Germany was a peace-loving country. We had hot drinks at the old...More

Its worth having a look at the 1936 winter games ski jump and slalom site. there is a museum of the games and a nice restaurant. Busses transfer you from the town or you can walk.

Our stop turned into primarily a WC stop, but a few Olympic sports buffs were truly enamored with everything visible, especially the ski jump track. It is rather awesome to see and it is well maintained for a relic of 1936 and 1968.

Interesting place for a short visit. This is the site of the 1936 Winter Olympics. Worth the visit to see the stadium and the 4 ski jumps. I was in awe looking up at the height of them. The stadium itself is under a lot...More

Not much to do, but we were glad to make a brief visit. The ski jump was impressive, and the place has a historic feel. Take a look at my photo--it pretty much conveys the whole scene.

This is the ski jump arena that was used in the 1936 winter olympics. The jumps as you would expect are not the originals however it does not take much imagination to admire the courage of the early pioneers of this sport and the current...More

there's not much to do there, but still worth paying a visit given the history. yes, the Olympic stadium and the jumping piste are impressive, but that's almost all there's here. there's a ski piste nearby, and it looks nice, but it's only one, so...More

It was in 1936 where Garmisch-Partienkirchen hold the winter Olympics in this city in Bavaria. It has been preserved and still in use until now for practice of this winter sport the Ski Jumping. I am happy to see this when we visited the place....More

For us this was a must see, a part of history that quite frankly the Olympic movement should be ashamed of. If you aren't that into history or sport it probably isn't that interesting.

This is a marvellous and iconic landmark in Garmisch. You feel as though you are transported back through time as you enter the arena through the massive, square pillars. There are guided tours of the ski jumps along with historic information and there are info...More

The tour was very informative and good fun, the guide was very knowledgeable. Tour itself was in German, not sure if it is offered in English as well. The last bit all the way up the Ski Jump might not be for you if you...More
