- uindyhdIndianapolis, Indiana84 contributionsInteresting to see...Very interesting to stop and walk around to see the scale of it. They were setting up an event the day we were there and machinery was in the way at the bottom of the hill, but still very impressive. many hiking trails start from here so alot of people park then hike up the hill from here.Visited June 2023Written 18 June 2023
- karzo216 contributionsStunning. Add Kainzenbad to your day.Fantastic walk up to the Partnachklamm gorge, stunning, and relatively easy for kids and less mobile people. Walks after the gorge is much more difficult for either of those groups. Kainzenbad is a 5min walk away ; cheap (€2.50 /day per adult) , beautiful pool, snack bar, dressing rooms, lockers - relaxing, pleasant pool resort with the mountains as the back drop!Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2023
- June0871 contributionsVery interesting but ski lift beside it amazing experienceThis is a short taxi ride from the train station in Garmisch, about eur12 for 4 of us. It's really interesting to see and a lovely restaurant at the bottom of the jumps. But the best thing is the ski lift up beside it which brings you up to the most gorgeous place. It was thick snow up there for us but you could follow tracks to the restaurant (closed) and viewing area which is breathtaking. Well worth the ride up.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2023

This old establishment has an excellent kitchen, is clean and well decorated, offers seating outdoors or indoors, has a fabulous offering of daily baked desserts, and the staff is welcoming and friendly.

There is free and cheap parking nearby and it is worth stopping for 10 or 15 minutes just to observe and admire... Quite a spectacle...

Can't help but pull the car over and find your way to it... Those ski jumps just pull you in. A wonderful site and must have been a special occasion.

Most of the stadium was torn up due to construction. It was still neat seeing the large jumps. It would be a lot of fun to come back in the wintertime.

Great place to grab a bite and a beer after a long hike in the Partnachklamm. It was fun to watch the kids coming down the zip line.

The stadion is on the way to the Partnachklamm and worth a quick stop. You can enter for free and we were lucky to witness a training of several ski jumpers.

The scene if the 1936 Winter Olympics ski jumping. You can feel the history. Worth a 30 mins visit and if you have time there is a walk to the ski jumps with a great view back across Garmish itself.

We will be coming from Munich to hike the Partnachklamm trail/ gorge. The trail head is at the ski stadium. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could get a taxi from the train station to the ski stadium? Not sure if Uber works in this part of Germany?

Is the stadium open every day?

Yes stadium is open daily, the restaurant there has hours that change with the seasons. And outdoor events are held there from time to time. Google Garmisch to see if any events will be during your visit.

Gästehaus Brigitte in Garmisch. Great place, centrally located. The owner is very helpful and friendly. We will always stay there when visiting Garmisch.
