Absolutely stunning. Only way to describe Mittenwald really.

Mittenwald town must be one of the most beutiful place on Earth! Friendly peple, lots of smal shops, restaurants and bierstubes. The building is decoratet, and a smal stream of water runs through the city. Run and visit!

Hi - The hours do vary and in Germany shops are closed on Sundays all day. There are open places to eat etc but in general shops are shut obviously you may find the odd one open for a short time. Bavaria is still a Church... More

The Karwendel cable car may also be reached from the station, it is in the opposite direction to the old town from the station, about 10 -15 minutes signposted stroll, and the ride up is about 5-10 minutes. It is very beautiful up there and well worth a visit. There is a restaurant up there.
