We spent six days in beautiful Berchtesgaden but didn't go to the National Park Center. There was lots else to do, including a boat trip on the Konigsee, walks around Berchtesgaden itself, an excursion to Salzburg nearby, walks in the general area of the town,...More

The Haus der Berge is a Nationalpark Berchtesgaden Visitor Centre located on the Southwestern outskirt of Berchtesgaden. It offers some insight into the park activities and possibilities, even though it - to my opinion - fails to show all the beauty of the park itself...More

We enjoyed a couple hours walking the fine terrain with superlative vistas of the peaks and valleys. We set out on a grand clear sunny morning, affording awe inspiring scenic views along the way. Our visit to the Eagle's Nest was undoubtedly another highlight, not...More

This is a great place to visit for an hour or two, very informative and it’s free unless you want to pay to visit the exhibition. The cafe also has amazing views over the mountains.

We went here on a damp day on the recommendation of our tour guide. An audio guide is essential as most if not all display text is in German. The queue to the interactive display section (great for kids) covering the flora, fauna & geology...More

If you are interested in the wildlife that can be found in the National Park then this is well worth a visit. It is also a great wet weather option. The exhibition is imaginatively displayed with information in both German and English. There are interactive...More

Great exhibit with lots of info and fun. The audio guide was especially fun for my kid (6 years). Local school kids are the speakers and interesting facts are hidden in little stories. Don't know if it is available in other languages than German though.

Amazing views over the area. Loved it up there. Eagles nest is amazing and obviously very historical. Well pleased we went to it all.

I stayed in Berchtesgaden many years ago, since when the town has changed dramatically. The town is now a modern town successfully merged with the medieval properties. The town has many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars with large plaza areas for relaxation. The National Park...More

Absolutely stunning place! Definitely worth a visit there, but I think you need a whole day for this as there is so much you can do here! There's so many different hiking routes you can take on this National Park!

Sorry, we were just on a day trip to Berchtesgaden. The tourist bureau would be of greater help I'm sure. Have fun!
