The park entrance is just past the Sofitel/Novotel entrance. There's a good number of bench seats as well as a large grass area that has a shaded area. Depending on the heat ( it was mid thirties when we were there), there was plenty space...More

Located next to the wonderful Sofitel hotel, this is where you get a great panoramic view over the city. There's a bus stop nearby. If you are pressed for time, this is a real "must see" (and free).

The views from here are amazing, you get panoramic view of Marseille old and new port. It's a great place for kids to play and run around, perfect for picnics and it's definitely the best spot to watch sunset.

I walked to the Park and I spent about 1 hour enjoying the stunning views of Marseille Port, the Fort opposite, and the busy transit of all shapes sailing and motor boats. I didn't have time left to visit the actual palace...next time I will!

We walked around here on our self guided walking tour of Marseille. It is worth going this far and sitting a while to enjoy the views back down the Vieux Port. There is lots of green space around the building. A lovely spot. The Palais...More
