We first went to Saint Tropez which was garish, too many people, too many cars and the views of the town were completely spoiled by yachts almost as high as the buildings themselves. Having decided to leave we drove up to Grimaud village and what...More

We returned to Grimaud 10 years after our first visit, and it felt like we had been there just last week. Our memories of this special place were so fresh, which can only mean that we were especially touched by its charm and character. Although...More

My wife told me what we would see when we reached the top of the castle, and she was spot on. Strangely, this was her first visit to the castle as on our previous visit she had been unable to walk to the top. Her...More

We parked our car below the Castle. If you walk towards the graveyard, you will find the start of the small trail (about 1 hour). This trail takes you down and leads you to ‘Le Pont des Fées’, from there you walk into beautiful sites...More

Grimaud itself is a very quaint town. You can actually park close to the castle and walk up the hill to it then walk down through the graveyard to a fabulous stone windmill. We did the 5k circular which takes in the church, castle and...More

Grimaud is a peaceful mountain town with the beauty and history of all we think about in old Europe. The residents must have very strong constitutions as everything is uphill and requires walking or bikes. We did see autos but very few. The town was...More

The town of Grimaud is very picturesque, much more so than its more celebrated neighbour, Saint Tropez. There is a climb to reach the castle but the views from the summit are striking in all directions.
