We walked from our apartment up the hill to the Musee Matisse and were amazed at the Victorian era hotels that are now residences - good to read up on the history of Cimiez before coming here.

the Monastery is perched above the city of nice and has some great views. The garden is nice to walk through and the site has close proximity to the Matisse museum and the museum of archeology with access to some old Roman ruins.
I really enjoyed my time here at the gardens. They were impeccably managed and it was quiet and peaceful. Here is cathedral next door whose side doors open up into the gardens. Some church goers were coming into the gardens after he service was over....More
