if you think you know Chagall quite well, be ready - after visiting the sacred place you have a feeling as if lightning of art has struck you. It would be advisable to take a crash-course in the Bible-studies,so you can enjoy his painitings and...More

The museum is interesting because it was built during Chagall's lifetime, and so he had a lot of input to the architecture of the building. It was built primarily to house a series of religious works he painted that depict events in the Torah. However,...More

This wonderful artist has left a legacy collection for us all to enjoy. The setting is beautiful, the paintings well displayed. Very sadly the staff are so rude and unpleasant it made our visit a little bit sour. With 5pm as the advertised close time,...More

The museum is outdated and not English friendly. Construction underway, ticket staff not inviting or setting an expectation of interest.

Wonderful museum. The audioguide is essential because Chagall's paintings are so complex. You will come away with an understanding of the subjects he uses. Because we visited in the off-season, we were able to step back from these large works and view them in their...More

This museum is well done (this might be due to the fact that Chagall himself helped plan it). I’m not a huge fan of his work, but I learned so much about him and his paintings at this museum that he has grown on me....More

I last visited here in April 2013 and seized the chance to visit again en-route to the Cinque Terre from Southern France. The staff are disinterested but that does not affect the gallery at all in my opinion. The centre peice of the Gallery is...More

We arrived and there was no admission charge as only the permanent exhibit was open. Chagall's works of art were displayed well, were numerous, and had English explanation beside them. The Cafe in the garden had good choice for food and drinks and the gift...More

It is often striking, as a North Amreican, how often you see European parents explaining art to their children in places like this. it is also encouraging to see how many young people choose to make museums such as this one a place they want...More

I have never heard of a Chagall-painted ostrich egg which doesn't mean it's inauthentic. The best thing is to have it appraised at your local auction house wherever you live in the world.
