The St Nicholas Cathedral is a spectacular piece of architecture. We have not been to Russia, but the beauty of this church temps us to go the enjoy an abundance of the delightful onion dome style. We were fortunate that a docent offered for a...More

We visited here late on a Saturday and stayed for part of the service. The priests chanted everything and their singing was very good -- although we could not follow the order of the service. The choir chanting a capella in four-part harmony was just...More

The Russian Orthodox Cathedral feels like another world far removed the streets of cosmopolitan Nice. Architecturally striking from the outside with its tall bulbous domes, inside you feel that you have been transported back in time to Russia before the revolution. If you arrive during...More

This Russian state controlled Cathedral in Nice is in beautiful condition and the decorated domes are stunning against a lovely clear blue sky. The front aspect is the most decorative and the garden area is quite simple but pleasant to walk around and sit in....More

Fabulous onion domes which you suddenly come across hidden in a side street. Very peaceful interior which reflects the Orthodox religion so interesting to visit.

You are not allowed to take pics inside but this church is definately worth a visit to see the blue artwork which covers the ceiling and high part of the walls. It reminded me of Wedgwood and very beautiful. They were plenty of people sitting...More

This exquisite Russian cathedral is reputedly the largest of its kind in Europe outside of Russia. From whatever angle it is viewed it is a true wonder to behold. Absolutely stunning!

St Nicholas was beautiful - wish we could have taken photos inside but it is a place of worship and photos are not permitted. We took an Uber from our hotel and it made the trip very simple to do. Well worth the time to...More

Well away from public transport routes this is worth tracking down on the western side of the city centre. Classic domes, photography strictly forbidden inside but it is internally gilded and full of icons as a contrast to the drab building outside in this early...More

This cathedral is really quite famous but not quite the jewel I was expecting. In fact the orthodox cathedrals in Riga and Tallinn are much more impressive, both inside and out, so my four stars is perhaps a little on the generous side. One point...More

I have seen many people in a wheel chair around this area so I would say yes it is possible. Be aware of busier times for crowded space throughout the flower market on the earlier part of the day.
