It is such a lovely, clean island with lots of trees and shades to wander about. From the Fortifie you get a great top view. Recommend for a half day visit to escape from the city.

On a cool, calm island, just beyond the hustle of Cannes, is this wonderful place with woods and shade and vienyards and Cistercian monks wandering the old pathways

Ile Sainte Honore is an amazing place to visit by Ferry from Cannes. It has a lot of history and monks still live there (and run a vineyard!). The old fort ruin used to protect them from invaders back in the old days. It's lovely...More

It must have been a wonder to see when people lived in it. If you’re not into castles and forts you might be bored, but I thoroughly enjoyed climbing to the top. I couldn’t help but think of Monty python and the holy grail. But...More

A quick afternoon walk indeed... Next time don't hesitate to take time to visit the rest of religious edifices and to stroll on a beach. Best regards,

Visiting the island I did not realise that we would actually be able to enter the fortified monastery, let alone explore it and climb all the way to the top! What an experience. Breathtaking views and the history held in those walls! Not your average...More

If you can, try to climb the stairs to the top of this fortified monastery it's well worth it. Lovely views, but not for the less mobile, it's winding steps around the tower to the top.
