If one visits the Palais des Papes and wants to go to the tourist office it is not easy to miss this place. I am not sure about its historic importance but I will definitely not sit to eat in one of the tourist traps...More

This really feels like the heart of Avignon , it’s certainly where most people end up. Cafes and shops galore... merry go round too. Very vibrant at night

It is an interesting square with nice architecture, the highlight being the Hotel de ville. Restaurants around are reasonably priced.

Lots to see and lots of restaurants. You have to pass through here to get to the Palace. Great architecture round the square if you look up.
