This was the main shopping street in Avignon with the usual array of chains plus a decent sized Monoprix and a smaller Carrefour. There are also a variety of cafes, bars and restaurants.

Rue Republique has a little of everything..sidewalk cafes to Lush shop and Carrefour groceries. High end and reasonably priced stores..not to much tourist trinkets. Side streets offer great buys and local fair. BlaBlaBlas on Des Lices prcious store with unique items

Nice, well maintained bouvelard (a little construction going on by the train station), but overall a main street for walking through the heart of town. Lots of restaurants, shops, supermarkets, cafes, etc.

This is a good starting point to visit Avignon. Plus its got huge numbers of restaurants and coffee places. A bit touristy but thats the usual way

A very busy thoroughfare with grand architecture on either side, lined with shops and restaurants. An easy walk down here takes you to the local train station.

A nice shopping street with some good options. In the end you will find a tourist office that is well equiped.

If walking towards the Palace then try the little streets off to the right. This is the old town shopping area that has a little more caricature.

Lot´s of people, sometimes too much. Remember to check behind the corners because you might find interesting places. There was a lot of street performances when we were there, they were advertising upcoming festivals.

Walk along this main street that’s flanked by a variety of shops. All kinds of clothing and shoes and even a few sweet shops in there too. I loved popping in to the various shops, hoping to find the perfect thing to take home. I...More
