you can mix and match the past with the present. Imagine carrying a canvas along and looking for the best views to paint. A good place to have a stop on a busy day. The area will not capture you as one of the curious...More

If you follow the directions on the Tourisme pamphlet, you don't need a guide and could probably do it much faster.

While the are no Van Gogh works on display here. You can visit the areas he painted. The walk encompasses some Roman ruins and is very photographic and the tour shows you were to eat and shop.

Interesting to see where Van Gogh painted certain pictures in the area, but some sites are completely unrecognisable.

Outstanding interpreter from the visitor center. The lady who gave the tour was an expert on every aspect of Van Gogh and his time in Arle. Make every effort to make this the first experience you have in Arle.

Given that we are big Van Gogh fans, this walk was on my must-do list. But I have to say that we were very disappointed. We started at the tourist office, and the lady there was not very helpful at all. They did not have...More
