At central city, lots of great cafes around and a wonderful watch tower with a historic statue inside and lovely Carillion. An inscription talking about the town's occupation and ultimate liberation is very moving.

I thought this 17th-century city hall with an attached 16th-century clock tower presented a nice architecture attraction at the Aix town square. As I stood in front of the city hall, I found that its Italianate facade and carved wooden entrance door offered an impressive...More

The town hall square is one of the nicest in Aix. The town hall itself is attractive, but nothing special, but the 16th century clock tower is the real star. They were restoring the fountain when we were there, so it was a bit noisy,...More

We walked by twice and admired the clock tower from both sides. There was a small flower market going on in the morning - closing down around 1.

Here is where you'll find the post office as well as morning food sellers. Produce, soap, dried flowers, a little bit of everything is available in this square.

In the very center of the city, near the cathedral. The building looks very good outside, and even more interesting is the clock tower next to it.

The town hall in Italian Baroque style and built between 1655-78 is a long way off from the earlier style of the Cathedral. It is sandwitched between two of the nicest squares in the Old Town of Aix-en Provence. It also has the Post Office...More
