Found the walls after exploring near the cathedral - very impressive, with decorative brickwork, and later buildings incorporated into the walls. They are illuminated during La Nuit des Chimeres ( looked good in photos ) - unfortunately this was not taking place when we visited...More

One goed here because that wall is here. You have to pay tribute. We liked what we saw and recommend everyone to descend after a visit to the cathedral.

These Gallo-Roman walls are extremely well preserved and truly impressive. Our B&B was actually located at the bottom of the wall. The inner court yard lead up to the wall. Stunning! You can either climb the stairs or meander up the hill through ancient streets...More

Amazing to see that the enclosing wall from the Gallo Roman period still stands. You can still see all the details of the stones used and the pattern they choose. Remarkable piece of work that goes all aroung the City of Plantagenet. If you have...More

This is one of your first views of old Le Mans as you drive in (although, i'm, not sure which direction we came from!) and it was a good sign that there are impressive delights within Le Mans. It's not just about the 24 Hour...More

Le Mans is just full of interesting stuff. This is near some apartment buildings but it was cool to learn more about these structures. It's fun to explore.

The roman wall is probably one of the longest walls still visible in France. Most of the towers are still standing and the wall itself is in very good condition after 2 thousand years. It is believed that this monument is eligible to the Unesco...More
