Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Surly, unconcerned staff - overpriced tickets. Although there were some gems, there were several muddy, uninspired paintings. We were disappointed.

We visited to see the works of local artist Eugene Boudin but found to our surprise (and pleasure) that it has very much more than that - in fact, it is more like the "town art gallery" than just a specific collection on display and has some really marvellous artworks - like those by Hambourg - and examples of works by Monet, Dubourg, Dufy, Friesz, Gernez and others, as well as local Normandy landscape art and reflections of the town as a port and fishing base.
Excellent musuem/gallery and really worth a visit.

Definitely worth a visit! A nicely curated collection is a well-designed display space. Tough if you have mobility issues, but even then much of it is accessible.

If you love the Impressionist Painters this is a must see. See the works of pre-impressionist painters and experience their influence on artists like Monet and Van Gogh.
Recommend you buy "Le Pass Musees" that gets you into 4 museums, within walking distance of each other. Get the full history of Honfleur.

Recommended for those interested in the predecessors of Impressionism. An unexpected learning experience, as we learned how Monet came to Honfleur, and about his pre-impressionist mentors.

Really well worth a visit, not only for Honfleur painter Boudin, but other painters as well, among which the great Dutch painter Jongkind, not so well known but an example to Monet.

The Boudin museum in Honfleur is a show case for the work of Boudin who was a friend of Monet 's and worked alongside him painting views of the Normandy coast
The museum is small and not properly advertised -the tourist info implies there are lots of Impressionist paintings there including Monets - but really it is about Budin and his colleague Duborg ( a discovery for me)
But Boudin is a wonderful painter - so go and enjoy !

The Museum is bigger than I had anticipated and has an interesting collection. It does not have as many Boudin paintings as I had hoped, but I was still glad that I had visited.
