One of the remaining old city gates of the city. Marking the conquering by Napoleon III, the gate is decorated with heralding angels and Roman gods. We passed if on our city tour and saw it from the top of the Beffroi de Lille.
It is worth the walk to see this beautiful gateway. It is not far from the city centre and there is a large park just south of it as well. If you are heading to the Beffroi and city hall it is right there.
