Went here late afternoon as our hotel was nearby. Worth a look but not the most spectacular of churches. Restoration work is ongoing at present.

St. Maurice is a beautiful church. It did not open until 11:00 so I had time to wander around the outside and see the details. It is very peaceful inside and there is lots of beautiful art. It is very easy to find too.

We were amazed this was not higher up on the top things to do in Lille. We thought it was so peaceful and lived the stained glass windows. It was not busy either. Definitely worth a visit.

Only takes about 20mins to walk around. There are a few little chapels within, each with their own style. Plenty of stained glass windows, plenty of chairs. Light a candle for 1euro Worth a visit! Free to enter

For those concerned by the beggars, remember that this is a Christian church, not a tourist attraction. It ministers to the poor and needy. Look out for the foodbank collecting box for supporting refugees. I write this as an atheist. The building is stunning. The...More

Although large , this church has not any special features and is beginning to look a little tatty. I therefore wouldn't recommend a visit unless you have a real passion for churches

I loved visiting Saint Maurice, even more than I did the Notre Dame de la Treille. The first time I went in, I started tearing non-stop with no rhyme or reason. It's a beautiful old church with lovely pieces of art. Saint Maurice's stained glass...More
