Although this is part of the Palace, it was actually free to visit. The carriages were very nice to look at and clearly well maintained and restored. Some of the displays with the horses on their harnesses were impressive.
This is not a big museum of royal carriages, but still impressive. Extremely elaborate ones for kings, and even pint-sized carriages for baby princes. Descriptions are in English so you get a good idea of the era of kings. it's across the road from Versailles...More
