This is not a big museum of royal carriages, but still impressive. Extremely elaborate ones for kings, and even pint-sized carriages for baby princes. Descriptions are in English so you get a good idea of the era of kings. it's across the road from Versailles...More

Opens at 12.30pm but wow what a wonderful display of coaches. The gold coach - wow. It's around 10 minutes slow walk from the Palace

Really great collection of royal horse drawn carriages that is accessible to see on your visit to Versailles and is a free entrance. Tour groups tend to skip past this.

Walk across the bus park in front of Versailles Palace to the old stable building - amazing display of beautiful horse drawn carriages, very ornate and some weighing more than 2 tons. It's all free!

These carriages are amazing, set outside the main palace this attraction is well worth a visit. There is no cost to visit as it is included in your ticket to the Palace, the history behind these carriages is amazing and the fact they have survived...More
