The smell of stale urine was overwhelming. Beware of pickpockets, beggars and drug users . A very unpleasant, ghastly experience.

The architecture makes it worth a visit even if you are not going anywhere by train. If you are be aware that the platform number is not posted until 20 mins before the train leaves.

you will barely see any signage in English about the train announcements. please be informed before hand about what are the basic things like platform number and train number called in french so that you do not end up missing your train in the translation...More

Check out Restaurant L'arrosoir, which is just down the road on Avenue Daumesnil. Some reviewers did not like it as much as we did, but we thought the salads were very good.
