Here's the big guy right next to his home, the Cathedral. So I guess this is indeed the perfect spot. Lots of people take photos.

I actually didn't know the Pope John Paul II Monument existed, so I'm really glad I found it. If you are facing the Cathedral, walk to the right and take a stroll along the Seine. You will see the monument on the left. This is...More

I think this statue is quite new. To remember Pope John Paul II, they placed his statue next to the Notre Dame Church. This is the right place for this monument

Pope John Paul II Monument which is on the right side of the Notre Dam from the front side. You'll also get the great side views of Notre Dam, just from the side of pedestrian there.

The Pope John Paul II monument is handily located in the park to the side of the Notre Dame Cathedral. It’s free to view and won’t take long either.

This a great statue and tribute to the former Pope. It is best visited at mid-day when the sun shines directly on it. You can get great pictures of the Pope and the church, especially the large south rose window.

This is a relatively recent addition outside the river side of the Notre Dame cathedral. It is quite close to the river path and is at ground level so you can get a close up look at it.

It is such a pity that the monument dedicated to such an outstanding figure as the Pope Ioan Paul II looks like this. Locals say the the monument was remodelled after the first inauguration as the society didn't recognise it. In vain. It didn't become...More

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
