After strolling down the streets of Paris I found Eglise Saint Louis en I'lle. I was automatically intrigued to enter. Upon entering I was in awe of the beauty of the church and hit with a sense of peace at the doorway. Once seated for...More

A gorgeous cathedral - worth the stop whole on the neighborhood. Perfect for concerts and you can find free Sunday concerts - what a treat!

Watch out for free concerts here, especially on Sunday afternoons. It's a lovely setting with good sound and in the middle of one of Pari's most beautiful neighborhoods. We used to live across the street.

We almost walked by this church, which is jammed between other buildings right by the street on Ile Saint-Louis. But then I happened to look up and saw the 99-feet-tall tower with a clock and we decided to go inside. The extravagant baroque interior of...More

Free concerts are held here, so check the schedule. Beautiful place to hear good music, popular so come early. And after the concert, lots of places nearby for food and drink.

We just popped in while a choral performance was happening, and the acoustics were lovely. Great church, with a Gothic feel.

This is what I did when I came across it. Below the curious clock tower is the sign that reads Ecole de Gargons. I assumed it was a school and I just wasn't able to figure out where the church was! I only rated it...More

An Ukrainian mixed choir two Christmases ago and a Bulgarian male choir this year. Acoustics are excellent and the organ was in tune and very rich. The outside is plain and shows some damage from the Terror; the interior is fine and quite delicate. It's...More

defaced Fleur de lys on the wood doors facing rue saint louis. Iconoclasm of the french revolution to eradicate any memory of the "old regime". I find it very interesting that traces of the past survives and tell a story of Paris, France and its...More

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
